My Secret Garden Owner & Designer

For as long as I can remember, I have always been passionate about flowers, and have used them throughout my life to mark milestones, happy or sad, and to convey a  mood, sentiment, or feeling. I have also dreamt of opening my own shop. During a 25 year career with Air Canada, I was fortunate to have visited many international flower and garden shows, met famous floral and garden designers, and studied at The Chelsea Physic Garden and Paula Pryke Flower School, both in London, England.

My Secret Garden, officially debuted at the Wonderful Wedding Show, 2004, My Secret Garden won the best booth award in 2005 and 2008. Ecoluxe Event Design Group was launched that year, with Pulp & Circumstance Stationery, Sweet Impressions Bakery, and Off The Page Photography to offer eco conscious event planning and products. In 2009, Ecoluxe organized the first ” Green Street” at The Wonderful Wedding Show.

My Secret Garden started as a home based business, and over five years developed a sizable wedding / event clientele.
In February, 2009 I opened My Secret Garden, Floral Design and Event Planning, at 84 1/2 Albert Street, in The Exchange District – the dream come true. The space, part Harry Potter, part Dicken’s Curiosity Shoppe, this turn of the century, former carriageway is a place you come to visit, but feel you want to stay.

SERVICES ~ Flowers & Event Planning

Firstly, we are a “flower shop”  and can offer anything from a small take away bouquet, to 75 centrepices for a corporate gala. But we also offer event planning, event rentals, eco options, garden advice, beautiful gifts, and wrappings, in one unique location.

PHILOSOPHY

If I can create something beautiful, that touches someone on an emotional level and also pushes the boundaries of traditional floral design, I will have been successful at turning that passion into a thriving  business.
